No way in a million years is MS going to sink money into an extra 4GB of ram. Developers are pushing for the next gen to have a max 4 year cycle, and adding that extra 4GB would cost a lot of money on circuit design, assembly and so on, and in reality it would give little reward as filling that much space with current optical and HDD drives would take a long time. I have an ultra fast SSD that can transfer 515 MBps max, and even if you could sustain that rate which you cant, it would still take half a minute. With a normal HDD or Bluray drive, you are talking minutes just to load the ram.
