It's not a driving simulator because it doesn't use real word cars or mechanics. It is a racer however because you, well, race. |
Right and SSB is not a fighter because it does not use 1v1 at a time combat, health bars or a round system.

Doesn't matter how you fight, as long as fighting is the main draw of the game then said game can be considered a fighter. How you fight just determines the specific type of fighting game it is.
