What, so now you have some drastically different definition of hype other than what's written in the dictionary? Hype is hype, hype = excitement, 500,000 people were excited enough for WSR, not hard to understand. It kind of did have to, because bringing it up now means you're comparing among different situations, apples to oranges. WSR wasn't released under the same conditions as SLW will be released in. Again, WSR happened after the Wii Sports phenomenon, there is no Wii Sports-equivalent phenomenon with Sonic; therefore, that WSR example doesn't apply in this situation because Sonic is just an ordinary game being released, not a continuation of a phenomenon. Unless you can give me an example of a Wii Sports-like event for Sonic, then that WSR example is just trash. |
Sales and hype are not the same thing. You don't have to be hyped for a game to buy it, and you can be hyped for a game then not buy it.
