Basically all an IR blaster does is transmit the same code that your remote would in the same way(infrared i believe). They usually look like in the first link, and you plug the one end into the XboxOne, and place the wire in a spot that will transmit to your cable box(the end of the wire is a transmitter just like in the front of your tv remote). Its most likely going to be used for cable boxes that dont support the xbox one. They may do it slightly different, but that is how they work for PC TV tuner cards. |
I know what an IR blaster is, I am merely questioning how it would work from the Kinect. I thought what he meant was that the Kinect actually fires the signal, which I don't have full confidence in. I am well aware that you can just get a wire there and tape it to the box to produce the signal, that is how my system works (not that I use it, I much prefer the physical controls of an actual TV remote)
