Stick with the current gen.  While you're playing current gen games you can save up money, wait for next gen launch titltes to drop in price, and wait for some actual good games to be released, like Infamous Second Son or The Division.

I'm sure you've got to have some sort of backlog, and if you don't, I'm sure there are some great games out there you haven't yet played that are probably $20 by now.

Hmm your right. I do have a pretty big backlog on my PS3 and a few games on backlog on my 360. But I don't know if I have $400 then I'll go ahead and buy a PS4 at launch if not then current gen games will tide me over until next year.
