Pokemon sales in the West (NA+Europe) in millions:

Red/Green/Blue: 20.16
Gold/Silver: 15.18
Ruby/saphire: 9.96
Diamond/Pearl: 10.65
Black/White: ~8.9? (Europe sales are somehow messed up so I used the 1.5 NA: Europe ratio to estimate Europe sales)
Black/White 2: 3.39

Obviously I do not see X/Y selling less than B/W 2 in the West but I can definitely see it selling less than B/W

Selling less then black and white? How did you come to that? black and white had the best opening to a pokemon game to date, with it's legs being cut short due to a new handheld

You should be comparing it to diamond and pearl, considering the both came out at the same point

and pokemon black and white 2 actually sold more then platinum

I'm just saying that there is a trend for Pokemon sales declining in the West, with the only exception being Diamond/Pearl thus far. Black/White 2 being a bit undertracked does not change the point at all.

My conclusion is based on history. You denied said history that bananaking decided to use for his prediction. I'm just saying that this history is right, and thus there wasn't anything "stupid" about his post.

How can you say a series is declining, if your making an exception? You should know that the ds pretty much died in the west during 2012 which did halt black and whites legs

You cant expect a game to have legs if the console/handheld doesn't have legs itself

You're pretty much basing your entire argument on nothing, Because your trying to not count ruby and saphire, and you forgot or avoiding the fact that black and white was the fast selling pokemon game, and was tracking way ahead off diamond and pearl, till the ds capsized

And if you are following the trend, like you say you are, then you would realise that black and white 2 outsold platinum, which would break the trend would it not?
