I asked Pezus this but I actually wanna ask everyone who's saying pricecut 2013. When do yal expect the price cut to happen?

We just got a Nintendo Direct today. I'd think if they were gonna price cut this month, it'd have been announced in that ND. Since it wasn't, I think it safe to assume August is out of the question. Having a price cut during November n December just wouldn't make sense since the holidays will boost sales anyway. So that leaves us with October and September. Quite a narrow window and October is still pretty close to the holidays. Plus Nintendo's last price cut was announced in July and took effect in August.

I can't say I really care for Nintendo to drop the price (I more or less want a Bayonetta 2 bundle with a black or blue Wii U to go with it).  But I'll reckon if Nintendo does feel the need to drop the price (Which they really do need to do) then it'll happen after the holidays since when they'd cut the price there'd be black friday sales so it'll be pointless to do during/before.

Plus there's already so many retailer cuts going on, especially in Europe from what I've heard. I wonder if a $50 cut would even match what some are selling them for. All the more reason for them to wait so they'll be in a better position to do a $100 drop!

Good point. The wii u launched at £249 and £299 for the basic and premium in the UK.

In may Asda sold all they had for £149 and £199 respectively. They sold out and Asda stopped stocking them. Go to Asda and they are listed as "sold out".

I think £199 or euros is the sweet spot for the console. The word is out that it is vastly underpowered and unlike the wii is expensive. No one seems to care the cost comes from the tablet. Joe Public just thinks its overpriced.

Iwata said he expects Pikmin 3 and SM3DW to move hardware. Pikmin 3 doesn't seem to be doing that as he expected. I hate to think that this time next year he would be waiting for titles to move hardware and it not happening.

Technically Pikmin 3 did move hardware! But yeah Iwata's crazy if he thought Pikmin could sell systems like Mario or Donkey Kong. Also, they'll definitely price cut by the time MK8 releases. As of now there's nothing slated for release in between SM3DW/Wii Fit U and MK8, so a $100 cut in February or March would be great for maintaining sales momentum.
