Do you prefer to play as a male or a female protagonist ? (Hey, there is a poll !)

I prefer to play as a male, since I am a male, and I find it easier to project myself onto a character that is male (particularly if there is any romance involved). When given a choice at the beginning of an RPG, I pretty much always pick the male character, at least for my first playthrough.

That being said, I don't really have too much of a problem playing as a female character in a game. I very much enjoyed playing as Lara Croft in the most recent Tomb Raider, for example, and I can't wait to play the next-gen follow-up.
