I decided not to post anything since the estimates were pretty rough due to VGC being two weeks behind and chart-track's decisions for which percentages to release the past couple weeks. However, based on what I could parse out, it seems unlikely the drop was only 40%.
Last week BOII was 16 and DW8 was 18. BOII is up 48% this week, so using VGC numbers, that would put BOII at greater than 4,948.
Last week Pikmin was
01 (02) 360 MINECRAFT: XBOX 360 EDITION (MICROSOFT) - Over 9.172 (Under 16.102)
02 (NE) WIU PIKMIN 3 (NINTENDO) - Over 5.729 (Under 16.102)
03 (01) PS3 THE LAST OF US (SONY COMPUTER ENT.) - Over 5.729 (Under 7.773)
Now if it is actually at the low end of that, it could be 40%. However, that is a pretty messy set of numbers, so let's go with the 9-15k, settling on 12k that you posted last week.
At 12k, a 40% drop would be 7.2k. While the numbers for BOII are 'greater than', it is unlikely that the error is so large that 7.2k could be reasonable. Especially considering Pikmin is seven spots lower than BOII. Even at a 9k first week, 40% would put Pikmin above the minimum for BOII. At the high end of 15k, Pikmin would need to be at 2 or 3 to have only seen a 40% drop.
This is a lot of extrapolation on some numbers that aren't all that perfect to begin with, so take it with a huge grain of salt. However I think it is pretty safe to say the drop was significantly larger than 40%. If we go with a 12k first week, I think a drop of 70% is probably more realistic.
