If the US had these crazy Canadian Wii U deals you wouldn't be able to go buy one because all the resellers wouldn't have got them long before you the news hit they were $150. From my experience with the resellers where I live in Florida, they know atleast one person from many of these stores and if you go down there the second you hear the news, they'll still be out of stock.
Before Circuit City stores closed down they used to do some amazing clearance sales. Unfortunately, either the employees or someone they knew got anything and everything worth something. One time I was going to go there a couple days early and buy the games I was interested in due to the clearance lists always going up early, then go back and return them the week of the sale and rebuy them at the cheaper price. They had all the clearance games on a cart, so I took a bunch I was interested in, went to the counter, they said they weren't able to sell those. I asked why not and they said thtey were holding them for someone to purchase. When I took it to the store manager that they were holding items that were going to be clearanced out for someone else to sell, or for them to sell, I got brushed off and still didn't get to purchase the items. Sale or not, I never stepped in Circuit City again and later on they went bankrupt.
It's like this in most stores around where I live. Resellers who pull tactics like this are douchebags.
