I don't see why you'd have it off...

To me, it increases immersion and gives games a more visceral feeling. It also helps me know when I'm being shot at etc.

I do not find the vibration to be immersive, to me it's actually distracting and even a bit uncomfortable. Probably just grumpy old man syndrome... I've never liked rumble, not since I first tried using it on the N46 with Starfox/Lylat War.
