^1) Ah, sort of like how brand helped Nintendo beat Sony during the PS1/N64 era?

2) Would you're mom buy a PS3?

Of the 46 something million PS2's that were sold in Others, I would say that maybe 10 million really care which console they get, the other 36 million aren't loyal enough to care. Casuals FTW. And Nintendo has them, for all intents and purposes, locked.

1) Yes, the Sony brand was probably at its strongest in the mid nineties.

2) No, she wouldn't by any console. The point is she has heard of the Playstation, so would be more likely to purchase a Playstation product.

What about the Nintendo brand before Sony released their console? How come that didn't save them? And actually, I think Sega was bigger than Nintendo in Europe (or at least as big), so why didn't that save them either? Why did Sony, against two companies with brand reconition, beat them?

And... since it was Sony's first console, you can't say brand. Also, try to leave out price, since I believe the N64 was cheaper. And don't mention power, because the N64 was more powerful, and the Saturn was more powerful than the N64 I believe.
