their systems are amazing. my gameboy still works! but so does my PS1, i would say sony systems arent far behind.

My SNES still works great, i wouldn't want to count the miles on that thing. Knock on wood, none of my systems have ever failed, and that includes 4 Nintendos, 2 XBoxes and 3 Playstations. Statistically speaking, however, I guess market research for the current gen had Wii fail rates at less than 5% while PS3 was at around 10%. XB360 was at a dismal 20% during RROD, but after that was fixed it went down to a more respectible and PS3-like 10%. Some anylists point to Nintendo using older, more proven tech in their systems, but some of their systems have been more state-of-the-art than Wii was. Who knows, but even the GC had rock-solid reliability with fail rates less than half of competitors.

i agree, they always make reliable systems whether they were technicially week systems like the Wii or WiiU or strong ones like GC and n64. also didnt the 360 have a 30%+ failure rate?

You could be right, I'm pulling those numbers out of my head. I did find the stats a while back, and I think it was what i wrote but I could be wrong. 360 was definitely way higher than acceptible. I can't believe people would buy a system with a 1/5 chance of failing. I did pick one up, but only after the reliability was improved substantially.
