Even if you don't take into consideration B&W2, my statement is still true. Anyway, we'll see about that. Based on the Amazon sales chart and the vgchartz preorder numbers, Pokemon isn't going to best games like CoD, GTA or BF4 in terms of sales.

I don't know what's equivalent to what but, going by vgchartz numbers, no pokemon game has passed the 20M mark since the GB days. Anyway, we will soon find out.

The first mainline Pokémon on DS outsold the first mainline Pokémon on GBA, the second mainline Pokémon on DS outsold the second mainline Pokémon on GBA, the remake Pokémon on DS outsold the remake Pokémon on GBA. The "third-game" Pokémon on DS outsold the "third-game" Pokémon on GBA. Black & White 2 sales are bonus.
Long story short, DS sales > GBA sales. Newer games beat the older games. It's not as high as those in the GB days (basically only the 1st gen is the outlyer), it's certainly not declining now.
