1. Graphics - They don't matter. Great games aren't remember because of their graphics. That said, many great games do have great graphics, but on the other hand, not all do.
2. Story - I'm not convinced by this argument but I do have some faith in the story myself. It's just the reasoning of this argument I don't agree with.
3. Gameplay - This one looks like it's going to divide people a lot so don't expect universal acceptance.
4. Music - One name: Nobuo Uematsu. I don't think he's working on this, and he's exactly the reason why FF games until X had awesome music. After that, music hasn't been nearly as good, even though I did like the music in XII and XIII.
5. Sequels Already Planned - If anything, this means they're planning to milk the franchise and aren't interested in making a proper ending. A part of Final Fantasy's magic has always been the feeling of completeness, I think. There's no 'what happens next' after finishing the game.
