How much will the 3DS sell in NPD for october?

nope, unless you want to talk about black and white and black and white 2, which was the first time ever that two games were released for a single console and was in the DS dying days, that would be an absolutley poor example.

They are still Pokemon games so they should still count towards the series overall sales. It's just that the reasons for the decline in 5th gen (end of console life, being sequels, 4+ other Pokemon games on same console, etc.) wont apply to 6th gen/X & Y.
