Pretty sure Augen nailed it. When atheists talk about "God" being a source of evil, they're talking about humans interpretations of the will of the gods. Not much of a 'gotcha.' Shouldn't be that hard to figure out. I think even theists would agree that a lot of evil is done in the name of one god or another.
