It will not happen to either PS4 or XBOne- both consoles have tremendous support form their own companies but 3rd parties as well- They have invested big $ s in the consoles. They have and will invest huge $ s in games, marketing etc. It is clear both consoles have gained a lot of attention in the market place and the press- although many are understandably upset w MSFT and how they presented the XBONE, I don t think anyone who is being intellectually honest would say anything but positive about the expectations for the XB One games and the overall quality/potential of the console- both the PS4 and XB1 have many excited- (I am a Wii and Wii U owner by the way- poor me for buying the Wii u at launch)
IF one remembers the first several introductions of the Wii u to the public, they were confusing at worst and unenthusiastic at best
It is hard to say how any of the consoles will do long term- but I expect both PS4 and XB One to have far better receptions in terms of sales (hardware and software) than the Wii U thru mid 2014 at least - I imagine the PS4 will outsell the Xbox One thru 2014 but the Xbox one will far outperform the Wii U sales # s over its first 15 months compared to the Wii U s 1st 15 months
