Actually the problem is different. Sony does decide about the price, it's the case for all online plateform actually.

BUT, they can't do what you say about put it for 0$. But that has nothing do with editor nor devlpers. The fact is, if Sony puts new games for 0, retailers can simply refuse to stock and sell ps3 system, accessories or Sony studios games. The day sony would not have to care about the retail market ( like Steam does for exemple ), things would be a lot cheaper for Sony customers.

*The psp go is a clear exemple of those kind of practice from retailer. Psp go was a "fuck" to retailer from Sony, then they simply refused to stock it.

Nintendo's eShop lets the developer decide the price.  I think Steam does, too.  Don't know about PSN or XBL, but it could be the same.
