If I'm drawing correct conclusions, it seems you think their line-up of games this Holiday won't work. Correct?
They've definitely come too late, and may be less of an impact because of that, but I think they'll do something. Though a jump back like the 3DS had doesn't seem possible. Even with those games.
Edit: I also think that maybe Nintendo feels as though their Holiday line up will make up for these bad 160k shipment moments. So they are most likely in denial, I agree.
