1. Wii U is definitely being sold at a loss, because they haven't announced it's being sold at a profit yet
2. Someone on neogaf said the accounting trick is to repatriate a ton of cash from EU and NA, pay huge tax on it in Japan (bad), but it looks like profit. And that Sony keeps money abroad and untaxed because that's actually better.
