What is discussed there is the Christian idea of "hell". Of course, it's not an explicit description. It's a story by Jesus explaining what it's like to be in hell, not what hell is actually like. Christians didn't take "hell" from vikings or anyone else. It is its own unique concept, and contrary to pop culture it doesn't involve a red guy with horns and a tail sitting on a thrown, Ozzie Osborn or many other stereotypes. It does involve a lack of God, a lack of wonderful things, and a lack of eternal life. |
I understand, I used to be Christian. I am going by the jewish understanding which is actually the correct one.
