Famitsu like to give big games, high scores. I am sure it will be very good, but it isn't AAA confirmed yet.

Also they gave Lair 33/40 and red steel too. So I would think before thinking it's AAA.

They gave Lair a 33/40 because the Japanese evidently aren't impatient pricks and realized that all you needed to do to make the game good was learn the controls. Now you know the only reason it got berated was because of the controls, but once you look past that, or take the time to learn them, then the game is just fine

Right. Evey single Western reviewer was an impatient prick. It has nothing at all to do with the fact that the controls just plain suck, or the fact that Famitsu seems biased against anything resembling a Western-made game. No siree.

Glorious Nippon is always right. Not like those American pig-dogs.

Considering that every review from IGN, Gamestop, Play, etc. said that they picked up the game, and played maybe 5 levels, then quit because the "controls were so terrible" then yes, I'd say I was about right with my assumption.

And I doubt it has to do with them being biased against anything Western, but rather, more so the reputation they have for being one of the strictest reviewers.......and btw, Lair IS a western style game, so your personal bias against Famitsu is moot.

PS. Halo (37/40) scored well, Motorstorm (30/40) scored well,  Grand Theft Auto (30/4) scored well, Oblivion (32/40) scored well.....need I go on.

And like I said, once you learn the controls, it becomes a great game...but most people won't give it the time......I guess they're afraid to have a learning curve
