Most of my game library is exclusives anyway.  In fact the only third party games I have hard copies of on my PS3 are Skyrim and the Batman games.  I've played plenty but resell most that aren't worthy of a permanent spot.  I'm planning on KZ, Knack, and Infamous in the first couple months of PS4 already and the Order whenever that comes because I trust the devs and loved all their games this gen (and just trust Cerny after seeing the games he's worked on).  AC4 I'm on the fence about since I never end up staying interested (bought all, sold all this gen) while BF4 will be my first game on PS4 and Watch Dogs will be on my Christmas list.  Also Destiny and the Crew are just about must buys at this point.  So next gen looks more balanced between first and third party I guess.

So inFamous isn't coming out for 4-5 months after launch, so at launch you just have Killzone and Knack, the latter doesn't look that impressive and I am sure you can agree that may might be happy with CoD or Battlefield instead of Killzone.

But certainly Destiny is on current gen and the Crew might be as well... A year after launch we will likely get Killzone, Knack, Drive Club, inFamous Second Son and then games from Naughty Dog and SCE Santa Monica probably.

All I am saying, is that there is nothing actually that compelling coming later this year, the best stuff is on current gen as well

But don't worry about me, I pre-ordered my PS4 as soon as I could

Oh I'm not really disagreeing with you.  I have 3 other friends getting the BF4 bundle otherwise I would have KZ at launch instead of it.  I think many will hold back I mean no console sells more than 15m or so in its first year and I doubt these ones will do close to that.  I'm just saying that current gen versions of those games are not enough for myself or many others.  Have they shown Watch Dogs, AC4, BF4, or Destiny on current gen?  I'm guessing the differences will be pretty night and day.  Also the next gen consoles will have more stability and features online so I'm thinking that'll sell many as well as the improved controllers.  Certainly they won't be for everyone in year 1 but that's what a 10 year lifecycle is for.  I think PS4 will do significantly better even ignoring hardware and features and exclusives because those COD and BF players are going to want the cheaper console for those games.  That's PS4 by a wide margin.  You can get BF4 and a year of Plus for the same price as the X1 console on Amazon.  That's huge and that crowd of 360 owners that bought it for the cheaper multiplat entry point will swing to the cheaper option again this time whenever they decide to buy a next gen console be it year 1 or 5.

15m would still be a good first year! Neither the PS3 or 360 managed that as far as I can remember

They haven't shown any of them on previous gen (have they shown Battlefield on net gen either?)

I don't think the differences will be that big, most of the games are still running on current gen engines, the main exception being Watch_Dogs which is why that is the one that I am looking forward to the most

But I just don't think there will be a big enough margin to convince everyone to switch over
