someone already said elsewhere...you had to plug a memory card into another players gamecube...from memory you even got given a new memory card with the game when you bought it...it kinda sucked but it was the best option available (wasn't very useful for me as I only had one friend with the game at the time). You kids don't realise how lucky you got it with your fancy internet connections these days!!!

I actually did play the GameCube version, so I'm not totally missing out on the fantastic oppurtunity. (My brother and I really liked Animal Crossing on the GameCube. It was my first AC, like many other people.)
