as i said above listen mode doesn't work on stationary people aka campers
honestly i don't think my problem is with the camping so much as how severely the game punishes movement you want to get somewhere doing anything but walking like a crab? forget it

Flanking is a tactic is used when you're in a group in that your partners know where you're going and what you're trying to do. It's also something you do when you know where the enemy is.
Now, if they managed to kill you once when they're camping, surely now you know where they are and you can smoke them, burn them or nail bomb them out. You have to move to gather supplies so the game does encourage mobility. Not just mobility but smart movement as well. You have to know when to run and when to crouch.
If your team is getting beat by a team of campers then you're doing something wrong.
