What is the natural progression for the controller from 7th gen to 8th gen? We went from joystick to d-pad, added shoulder buttons, added analog, rumble, wireless, and motion control. Every gen, something new was added. Why is a touch screen on the controller a bad thing in some people's eyes?

It has potential. The problem I have with the Wii U is that the games that are available for it are, for the most part, available in superior form, elsewhere. When you look at the creative strides made in touch screen gaming for mobile and tablet devices, it's pretty encouraging to see that somebody will eventually find a great use for it on consoles. The problem we have is that those are simple $1 experiences while console gaming has huge budgets, long dev times, and broader scope. The games are coming, I'm sure. When those games come, Nintendo will have the market virtually covered.

Nintendo forced a touch screen pad on us. Microsoft forced Kinect 2.0 on us. Sony isn't really forcing anything new on us. If touch screen or hands free control becomes huge, those forme two companies will have an advantage. If those "gimmicks", as some would say, don't catch on, so what? Xbox One and Wii U are still totally capable of delivering a traditonal gaming experience right out of the box.
