Considering all the high hopes everyone had of it eventually passing PS2 during the early years, this is kind of sad. Still, congrats! It still has a shot of passing PS1, I guess.

atleast the DS still has a shot at doing that, although i heard it's gonna get discontinued next year which is really sad. you had a fantastic 10 years DS!

Er DS was already discontinued?

really? you sure?

Oh I may be wrong, there was some confusion earlier in the year with them not giving a forecast and it being discontinued in Japan, I swear they confirmed it was WW too though.

Based on the latest weekly hardware chart, it might as well just be discontinued in Japan. It sold less than 40 over there. Less than 1,000 in Europe. It seems North America is the only major region that still has semi-decent sales of it. I don't think the DS will manage to make up the current gap of 3 million before it's discontinued completely, considering that Nintendo has shifted focus to the 3DS. At the rate that the DS is selling, taking any potential holiday surge into consideration, it would have to be on the market and maintain its current sales for at least another 4 years.
