Why not? Using the numbers we have here its a perfectly reasonable prediction considering they STILL havent gone through the last shipment.

They shipped ~3.45 Million as of April 1st

They sold 3.3 Million as of July 13th.

They sold ~3.2 Million as of July 1st.

Retailers will only order what they can sell. They wont order another 300k Wii U systems.

960k in Japan as of June 30th~
1.19m in US as of June 30th

Sales in Europe are said to be the worst out of the three and much worst than US. I know there are other regions it's sold in but I don't believe it's enough to put it over 3m sell through WW.
