But seriously, I wonder what they are doing with such a large OS? I doesn't have a Kinect running and voice sampling going all the time. So what could they be doing?

The new Kinect has it own hardware, so theorically it should'nt use so much resources from OS or RAM.

I thought one of them was part of that '3 Operating System' they talked about on the Xbox One.  Each one using 1gb of RAM.  Plus a version of Windows 8.something.  The Kinect is sampling something like a couple billion pieces of data a second.  It's bound to use up some memory.

I still think it seems like a huge amount, specifically, when you remember now freakin' tiny the Xbox 360's OS is.  It's a tiny, tiny bit of memory.

I know they both are DVRing the games people are playing a bit, but what else do they have in store that they have to reserve such a big chunk of memory?

Even the WiiU just used 1 GB for it's OS. People thought that was a huge amount.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
