The last two I can think of was Red Dead Redemption, but like others have stated, more mad/sad/outraged.

The most moving game I have played in a long time was Halo: Reach. Just leaves you sort of devastated at the end. Really well done and moving.

I just sat there and watched the full credits.  It was like the ending of a really good book or movie, where you know something is different now.  You see things differently.

Interesting, I felt that the progression of Halo Reaches character development killed it for me so when teammates died, I didn't really care

Halo 4 is a huge step up storywise compared to Reach and I thats 100% because of the fact that Bungie was replaced to me.

Curious, what did you find characters missing, too obvious in Reach, or something completely different? I didn't remember that we were 'already supposed to know how it ends' as I had been away from the Halo Universe for a long, long time.

I did figure out how it was going to end, well, mostly.  But when Kat died, I had to replay the level right after a number of times.  And I forget who it was, kept saying how much he missed her. I was a mix of furious, sad, and "I know, shut up about it!"

Yes, Halo 4 is very well done.  The most engrossing game I have played, I could not put it down.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
