/cry My beautiful post turned into "wall". Sadness. Seriously though, I get you. It's always nice to know that what you have under the hood will keep you going for a long time. Personally, I keep my PC updated as much as I find it necessary to get the best out of it. I buy consoles for the games I can't get on PC. I'll admit, I'm a junkie for visuals. They don't have to be photorealistic but boy do I still want them to shine. Ultimately, this is all going to end up being the same thing that happened last generation. For the first few years people will argue about whose is better and then only the most disturbed people will keep at it while everyone else just enjoys their games. No one will really give a damn who had more RAM or a better GPU or how many USB slots there were when most people only used one of them. It'll be good times. :] |
I have to say, I total agree with what you are saying. I know once I bought my Wii, PS3 and 360, I could care less who had the best specs, more ram, you name it. I only cared about the games and enjoyed all of the systems for what they brought to the market. It will be the same this gen. Once the consoles get to market and the games start to come out, people who only care about games will leave these discussion and go to ones that talk about games while the fanboys will continue to load and reload their fanboy guns shooting at each other for any possible advantage their console of choice gains.
