Serenity: The most entertaining space opera made in the last 20 years

I thought the trailers looked interesting and rented the movie without ever having seen Firefly, and loved it.  Much later, I bought the Firefly DVD boxset on the recommendation of a friend, and also loved it.  I'm not a "Joss Whedon fan" either; I have never seen an episode of Buffy and had not really been aware of his other works.
