I'm really rather fond of using my voice and gesture controls with Kinect. The thing with the Xbox 360 iteration is that you'll be navigating things with ease and then, you reach a snag. To finish purchasing this game, downloading your content, or some other random thing, it will say "You need your controller". Well, fuck. If I need my controller, why did I bother using my voice in the first place?
Sometimes, I get pretty far into the process and then realize that I don't even know where the hell my controller is. It gets frustrating. Now, if Xbox One can eliminate the need for a controller outside of playing a game, then it's a hit. The only thing they'd have to worry about are people that bought the original Kinect and got burned. Me? I like Kinect and the games I own. I suspect there are tons of people that aren't quite as enthusiastic since a lot of the potential for the original Kinect was never met (Outside of Kinect Fun Labs).
