When I was talking about being easy, I meant in comparision to Demon's Souls.

So is this game like Demon's Souls then? What else is it similar to? Stretch if you have to.

I wanted to quote some of your previous posts, but each time I srated doing so I got distracted... n/m I'll try to do that later... But for now.

And what does Soul Sacrifice have to do with Demon's Souls? Both games have word soul in their titles so they must be "the more of the same"? And I actually disagree about Demon's Souls being hard. It's an trial and error type of game. Once you beat it, it becomes really easy.

Soul Sacrifice is an action adventure game, in which you fight monsters in arenas and collect different types of magic. That would be the basis of the game in simplest words.

LOL No, I just thought Soul Sacrifice would be like Demon's Souls. I know Demon's Souls is an RPG, but to me it feels a lot like an Action RPG. Very little dialogue, very little plot, all Monster killing.

I like my RPG's to have a clear focus, and a clear plot. Monster Hunter, Demon Souls, and even stuff like God Eat and Freedom Wars stike me as games where you just fight monsters for the same of finghting monsters. I don't like those types of games.

Soul Sacrifice is nothing like Monster Hunter and definitely not easy.

I can see why it wouldn't be everybody's cup of tea, at first I was very WTF? to it, however after a couple of hours it clicked and is now one of my favourite games so far this year.

Soul Sacrifice's biggest problem on the review front is actually probably the very fact they went into their reviews with expectations that it was going to be a Monster Hunter game. I'm really glad it isn't.

Erm... I actually find it most like Phantasy Star Online, from the games I've played. It's a 4-player co-op action RPG. It's very fast paced and incredibly hectic at times. I've not had chance to try it online yet, but I really love the journal set up for each level.

It's biggest issue for a lot of people I guess, is that there is no massive world to explore, it's all in bite size  stages (though some of these battles can be pretty epic and run for quite a while) the journal sets the story for the main chapters and provides the story, there is very little in the way of exploration so if you're looking for that I'd steer clear. It's also a very grindy game, I was getting hammered by some of the early missions barely past the tutorial section, but running back though the earlier stages, farming more items/combining powering those spells up and increasing my level made them far easier to take on.

I think the reason I link it to Phantasy Star Online, is because the first one on Dreamcast had like 4 stages, that you just played over and over, and it was purely about leveling up, finding better rarer items with the difficulty just increasing as you improve at the game being the part adding the challenge.

It's definitely a marmite game (you'll either love it or hate it) but I do read a lot of comments about the game that just completely misunderstand what Soul Sacrifice is, and a lot of that is because they've not played the game, and if they have, it wasn't for more than 10 minutes, as it's not just 1 boss on each stage as I've read a lot of comments say, I've started getting to some much bigger environments now.

Anyway, thats my take on Soul Sacrifice, oh, and that the music is absolutely AWESOME! :D too good to be wasted on those puny built in speakers, headphones all the way!

Phantasy Star Online, another game I don't like....(no offense).

Grinding.....something else I hate (this is why I related it to Demon's souls).

An Action Adventure game with a large aspect of item management.....every game I played like this, I hated....

It might be awesome, but I think, even just from reading this, I can say that it's not my cup of tea.

Hard to classify a game which people either love or hate. Average isn't an appropriate word, I don't know what is.
