It can't be turned off, it can only be "paused."
Paused is not off... and it's stupid that I can't physically unplug it.
Did you not say to use analogies? I have a Camera in my laptop, but it can be disabled. I also run my computer on an old version of Ubuntu which has no program to access the camera, so it's 100% useless on my laptop.
If I still had Windows, I would be worried about privacy invasion behind a camera if it was a problem, but I haven't heard about any scandals or serious comprimises in security (except Skype in this scandal, but I don't use skype).

It can be turned off. MS takes privacy very seriously. Xbox is not on the governments radar, and you are now going into weird territory by persisting.

But the article itself says Kinect has to be on and plugged in while you're playing the game.
Who cares if it's off when you leave the house, I want it off when I'm present. It can read my heartbeat while I'm playing, just by looking at my face? WHAT?!?!? This just makes the system that much more scary.

Get over yourself. It can be plugged in and still off.
Like plugging in a vacum cleaner to electricity......it can be plugged in and still be off lol. This technology of "being plugged in and still be off" is older then you think lol
