At this moment in time, PSV doesn't really offer much that makes me want to upgrade. Uncharted, Gravity Rush, and Disgaea 3 look nice, but I'd rather play the much better rated GTA:LCS or Jeane D'Ark then spend $250 on a platform and then $40 more for an average, or slightly above average rated game.
In comparision, I also have a DS with about 15-20 games on the back log. Yet 3DS still interests me. Fire Emblem looks awesome, it's supposedly the best Fire Emblem ever. Tales of the Abyss is a port which I'm really looking forward to, and Resident Evil Revelations is suppose to be the best portable Resident Evil ever, which is just awesome.
I'm tempted to buy a 3DS, and if I did I would put games like this above my backlog on the DS (which also has some great games like DQIX, and Golden Sun). This is why 3DS is just awesome.
Plus, just to beat a dead horse with a stick, I don't own a DS XL, so If I buy a 3DS XL, I can play DS games I already own, in a larger screen. I do not have to rebuy the game again digitally.
So obviously I don't think much of the Vita because I don't see any solid reason to upgrade to it yet. I see a solid reason to upgrade to the 3DS, there are some great 9.5/10 games which I'm dying to play, but again Vita....meh.
I have a similar view towards the PS4/Wii U, and an even more negative view on the One, so don't hate. However Wii U at least has some AAA games planned (like X), and PS4 hasn't even released yet, so give it some time.
