Outside of digital first releases, it is rare that digital sales ever out perform or match the retail numbers. If they didn, a company that has been having such poor retail numbers would probably be shouting it from the rooftops to help offset the less then favorable retail numbers.
But yeah, Nintendo has been one of the top publishers for years, it is partiallly why a lot of companies are so quick to abandon them because they dislike the fact that not only are they competing and at times losing to Nintendo but some feel they have had an unfair advanatage since it is their own hardware.
