Let's clear one thing up, I don't like Superman. I'm a comic reader and I think he is underhanded, deceitful and one character more likely to 'lose it and turn' in the DCU than any other. He's good morals as Superman are outwards morals only (my view).
However, MoS was an enjoyable film. The idea he would destroy so many things in the city actually didn't throw me that much, I mean the machine they used destroyed far more and most people would have long since left by then. He can't take the fight away from the city as Zod wouldn't leave like that, unless Superman is clever enough (which he is now).
Difference between the cartoon and this film is that the cartoon always feels localised, their fight happen in a small area of the city, while in MoS it felt like in 2 seconds they'd crossed most of the city and destroyed another building. Scale of it all.
Hmm, pie.
