What do you want us to say? The PS3 is dead over there, and that's really all there is to it. Nothing can really be done about it, as the Japanese market has become an afterthought. Even Japanese developers are starting to focus on the western markets. Square-Enix—a Japanese company that some consider to be the biggest Japanese 3rd-party developer out there—has even made efforts to mae their game appeal to non-Japanese gamers. When the Playstation 3 was still in it's early development stages, Sony said that the western markets would be the most important, and that the western markets were their primary focus.

Right now, Nintendo is the only company thriving in Japan. Neither the Nintendo Wii or the Playstation 3 are moving 3rd-party software at a healthy rate. If it's not the Nintendo DS, 3rd-parties will have trouble breaking 500k on a platform. Why do you think that we have have seen such a lack of JRPG's and other Japanese games on our current-gen consoles? The answer is simple—the Nintendo DS.
