No co-op, and tbh I don't think there ever will be in story mode as having a second player makes things so much easier.

that's too bad.  I'd love to replay a 10 hour game in 5 hours with a friend, or 3 hours with 3 friends, etc...   "hey we're off work early, you guys wanna go beat pikmin 3 real quick?" that could be awesome.

But you have the awesome Mission and Bingo Battle modes!
