True, but imo there is a huge difference between having one analog stick and having two.  For some reason Nintendo was dead set with having one analog stick for a while, if you look at the Wii and the 3DS, thankfully they decided to use two for the Wii U.  I mean imagine if they only put one on the Wii U, that would have been a disaster.  Having two analog sticks completely changes the gameplay options available on that console. 

the N64 had something similar to a dual analog input, it had the analog stick and the C-buttons, Sony only replace the C-buttons with another analog stick.

Gamecube Controller had dual analog. Wii had a dual analog accessory (classic controller) and BC with gamecube controllers. 3DS has a Dual analog extension.
