Created by Todd McFarlane in one of the worst periods of comics, most comic book fans would happily forget him if they could. Alas, we cannot. |
Hate to burst your bubble but the 90's was a golden era for comics, saturday morning cartoons and videogames. Spawn was so popular it warranted a movie and videogames. He was the savior character for Image comics. Wildcats was also very popular in the 90's, which was Images version of the Xmen. Spawn is still popular today and was more for the mature reader than the child. Even the HBO series had to be only for mature audiences and all the kids wanted to see it.
