I guess that means you have to play Xbox One in a lighted room for the Kinect to see you. I wonder how close or far away you have to sit from the screen. Not really wowed by that feature, but I'm feeling neutral about it.

Actually, the Kinect doesn't need any light to see you.  Start at 1:00 to wach just the part about it seeing in the dark.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi5kMNfgDS4

I think they said as close a 1m (3 feet) at least 12 feet away, but I think it can go more.

If anything seperate the Kinect 2.0 from its first gen and even the PSeye is the ability for Kinect 2.0 to see in the dark.  Kinect is not tied to light anymore besides for RGB data which was a pain sometimes with Kinect 2.0 and the PSeye.  It so happens I have both at home.  I got Kinect 1.0 for free from my company and I bought the PSeye a long time ago then bought the move controller to go with it.

Anyway, the lighting within my den is not great and there are multiple windows which causes all kinds of lighting issues during the day.  This wreak havoc on Kinect 1.0 and was even more of a pain with the PSeye.

MS seem to have address this issue with the infraRed sensor while Sony has not. Sony sensor will still be regulated by the lighting within your if its going to attempt hands free type controls.
