Poor analysis from Peckham.

He's known for being anti-Nintendo anyway. A recent gem of a quote being, "Sony's going to retake the Japanese market from Nintendo probably sooner than later...."

To further deconstruct his article, I present the following:

"It took "Wii Fit" seven weeks to hit one million units, and "Wii Sports" a full 11. SSBB should easily fly past one million in less than four."
----Actually, Pekham it took just 11 days of which took place prior to your publishing the article.

"But moreover, it's not looking pretty for Nintendo post-June...."
----Looks to me like someone else with a big mouth in the industry didn't pay attention when NOA stated they will no longer provide much in the way of news for distant projects. What we know of now is just Q1-2 because that's all they planned to reveal thus far. Q3-4 will be revealed at E3. Everybody in common contact with NOA knows this yet he uses this new policy as a target against Nintendo's post June line up.

"Microsoft's been consistently clobbering Nintendo and Sony in software sales...."
----
2008 US software sales.
X360 - 7,407,695
Wii - 6,580,349

2007 US software sales.
X360 - 50,862,901
Wii - 40,680,137

His definition of clobbering and my definition of clobbering must not be the same. I mean it's only natural for a system with a larger install base to sell more software....right? And I'd hardly call those a clobbering.

"Wii Sports and Wii Play may have more overall sales, but Microsoft effectively owns the rest of the top 50 chart."
----
Number of titles in the 2008 US top 50 charts.
X360 - 16
Wii - 14

And this guy gets paid to spew such egregious fallacies?
