While I thought MoS was better than expected it wasn't mind blowing or anything. A lot of the writing was mediocre. The whole "this isn't super man, he would take them away from the city, etc." complaints don't hold water in my opinion. This isn't the comic, in the lore that the movie made for itself. In the movie he was a reluctant "hero" and was tormented left and right for being odd. He never really did anything but lift stuff to save people.

Basically, he never really got in a fight and never really explored his powers until he started flying around in Antarctica. Having never explored his powers or fought anyone from Kyrpton, it's sort of hard for him to know "this fight is gonna be super destructive, I should move away from the city." Sure, you can argue after the first fight, he would have known the destructive nature of the battles and moved away, but the enemies were gonna mess stuff up and blow things up looking for the....whatever it was called....regardless of where Clark was.

Also to the people saying Superman should have taken the fight away from Earth...Zod had his little gravity thing DESTROYING EARTH. You wanted Superman to just leave and say to Zod "Yo follow me let's go fight somewhere else". I'm sure Zod would have stopped his plans to demolish earth in an attempt to create a new land to live in. He would have followed Superman to an isolated enviornment just to fight him.

THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE NOW I UNDERSTAND!

That thing had already been destroyed by the time Zod and Supes were fighting. So yes, they could've taken it elsewhere.
