To all the people saying "they would have seen him and his 'disguise' would have been no good," I agree with you. People did see what he looked like and "laying low" with the lame disguise and working for the paper would not have worked. But at the same time, people would LOSE THEIR MINDS if they had changed that much of the lore from the comic. Imagine the nerd rage if he didn't work there or had a mask or something.
