You're right. So maybe in these days CPUs are powerful enough, so that no game really let them break a sweat? I don't know. Probably there are uses for a powerful CPU in gaming, but it seems memory and GPU have become more important.

There are still games that push CPUs, but memory does seem more important in modern games due to the trend towards larger, more detailed and more seamless worlds.
