Tales has always been a yearly franchise? 1996, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2006, and 2010 saw no Tales of games.
But, ah who cares. I love Tales.
P.S. Last year, Japan also got Tales of the Hero's for PSP. Looks cool. Actually they release a lot of spin-off/side games for the PSP (9 Tales of the World games, 9!), so wonder they are financially strapped.

OK, not always always lol, but it usually has been, especially in the past couple years. But anyway, in 1998 Tales of Phantasia remake was released on PS1. In 2006 they released Radiant Mythology for PSP and Tales of the Tempest for DS. In 2010 a Tales of Phantasia remake released for PSP as well as Tales of Graces F for PS3.
They don't always release a new mothership title every year but they still have something. For this year, ToS HD collection is releasing in Japan. Next year they'll release a new mothership title.

The frequency of major Tales games in recent years has been up, anyway, so long as we don't see a major Tales game annually like Alteir, I'll be happy. Honestly because there are so many Alteiler games, I've been pushed away from the franchise.
