Prepare for bad numbers in NPD guys. Nintendo did Earthbound today and a mini direct for a reason.

Uh, it didn't?   3DS sales up 40% year on year, a triple digit increase in software sales and has now topped the X360 for 2 months in a row (225,000 to 140,000 units)

Still, it was 1 boost when AC launched. Didn't improve the baseline by much. If the July numbers are near the May ones, then AC didn't do as well as people would've hoped. (For hardware. It's still selling really well though)

First week of July is already higher than any week in May.  You also have to consider that July is historically the slowest sales month of the year.   However, we'll get another small boost from SMTIV in the upcoming weeks' figures.
